Pacific Hybreed starts operations at its NELHA biosecure breeding station

We are excited to share that Pacific Hybreed, after a few months of construction and despite COVID-19, has started operations at its new biosecure breeding station at NELHA. The hatchery will produce Kumamoto oysters and rock scallops.

Pacific Hybreed is also part of a NOAA-funded project to develop genetic markers for resistance to the virus causing Pacific oyster mortality syndrome (or POMS). Read more here.
