Two NELHA aquaculture business owners made presentations at the TEDx Kamuela 2014 conference, held Saturday, October 4th, at the Kahilu Theater in Kamuela. Dr. James Wyban (below left), founder of Hawaii High Health Aquaculture, traced the domestic and international impact of specific-virus-free (SPF) shrimp in his presentation entitled “Hawaii’s Shrimp Broodstock Industry.” Gerald Heslinga, (below right) founder of Indo-Pacific Sea Farms, discussed the global cultivation and conservation of photosynthetic clams in his talk entitled “Sunlight, Symbiosis, and Sustainable Seafood.” These presentations and 13 others from the conference will be uploaded to YouTube’s TEDx Talks Channel as soon as editing is completed.
