A solar-powered factory starts operations at NELHA
Posted on Mar 25, 2021 in MainNELHA recently announced a new solar project at NELHA. In late 2020, LightManufacturing Inc. quickly deployed an outdoor containerized factory that produces large durable plastic products such as tanks from 100% solar power provided by heliostats. The system allows to build items that are typically shipped to the islands from an off grid plant that generates no pollution and has no fuel costs. The company is also conducting R&D on the use of post consumer plastic waste as a feedstock. LightManufacturing has started providing local customers with high quality catchment products and is eager to develop molds for any other consumer products that might be needed on island.
